Here's a very pretty and spring appropriate lip combination from the
Chanel Harmonie de Printemps ('Spring Harmony') Collection:
- Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in 'Bagatelle' (#161): candy floss (blue-toned) pink with multi-coloured shimmer (but mostly gold showing through).
- Le Crayon Levres (Precision Lip Definer pencil) in 'Rose Corail' (#49): a bright, vibrant rose/pink coral with very subtle pink and gold shimmers and a gorgeous pearlescent finish.
I'm really loving these two products, not just for the gorgeous rose pink coral colour (which helps to give you a brighter, youthful and fresh look), but particularly the lovely sheen and pearlescent finish that the '
Rose Corail' lip liner gives. The brightness and finish of the lip pencil really helps to accentuate the lips especially if you have small, thin ones like mine ( :-( ) and help to give the appearance of fuller lips and gives them added dimension that's not too loud once you layer a lip gloss over it. I'm really lovin' the effect.
#Obsessed. Also, it seems unusual for a lip pencil to have this finish. NormalIy, lip pencils are matte. I've really been enjoying wearing these two together! The pearlescent sheen lip pencil is what makes it unique in my collection. So, it would seem this is my newfound obsession! ^_^
Le Crayon Levres in 'Rose Corail' (#49)This lip pencil has a fairly smooth and creamy (but still firm) texture. It's fairly long-wearing - all day on me if I layer with a matte/semi matte lipstick on top. With a lip gloss on top, the wear time is only a few hours, but it does help to keep the gloss and lipstick last longer.
Scent: none that I could tell.

| These come with caps for both ends. I like that the caps are different so that you can tell which end is the lip pencil. The cap is specifically designed to fit well on one end so you're less likely to put them in the wrong end. Otherwise, you can try to remember the lip pencil end is opposite to the rose coral coloured band. ;-) Although in theory there's a 50-50 chance of me opening the right end, I seem to open the wrong one most of the time with many lip pencils. Go figure. Don't you hate that? Grrr... #MakeupTrialsAndTribulations ;-) (Why am I using hash tags on my blog?) #Sad |
 |
| Lip pencil on the left end and a lip brush on the right end for blending the lip pencil on your lips (e.g. soften out any harsh lines). |
 |
| Nice touch, yes? ^_^ <3 |
 |
| Up close, the lip brush on one end of the lip pencil. It's lovely and thick once used, and the tip is pointed for precision work. |

| Ingredients of the Lip Liner Pencil |
 |
| Swatch of the Chanel lip pencil in 'Rose Corail' (#49) on olive tan skin. So, so nice. |
 |
| The lip pencil comes packaged with a black plastic pencil sharpener. Although I wish this was an automatic lip pencil that you just twist up to get more product. Just be careful not to lose the sharpener! |
 |
| Near the sharpening hole, you can see there's a little plastic 'knob' protruding, you can pull this out to clean the blade and smooth and shape the tip of your lip pencil. |
 |
| This is the blade cleaner (on the left end of it) and on the right, rounded end of it is where you place the pencil tip to smooth and shape (particularly useful for eye liner pencils when you don't want the tip too sharp to line your waterline). |
Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in 'Bagatelle' (#161)As with most lip glosses, the glossimer is not very long wearing. However, the glossimers are much liked for their smooth, comfortable to wear and non 'gloopy' or sticky texture. They are also best appreciated in the sunlight or natural lighting where the shimmers come out of hiding and likened to beautiful shimmering water.
The finish is semi-opaque. Unfortunately, if you have dark, pigmented lips like I do, then the colour does not appear as vibrant a pink as it does in the tube. It does give you milky pale pink lips. If you want to achieve more colour then layer it over the lip pencil - it's fantastic! If you have naturally pale, pink lips then enjoy this on it's own - it's more pink on you. #Envious. #OverHashTagging.
Scent: none that I could tell.

| I'm just gonna let this one speak for itself. |
 |
| Ingredients of the Glossimer |
 |
| Swatch comparison on olive tan skin (L - R): Chanel Glossimer in 'Bagatelle' (#161) and Guerlain KissKiss Lipgloss in 'Rose Sunset' (#864). The former is a milky, bright 'candy floss' kinda pink with multi-coloured shimmers (mostly gold). The latter is slightly deeper, warmer rose/pink shade (and maybe a hint of coral) with multi-coloured shimmers (also, mostly gold showing through). |
 |
| Again, this time to show off the pretty shimmers a bit more. L - R: Chanel Glossimer in 'Bagatelle' and Guerlain KissKiss Lipgloss in 'Rose Sunset' (#864). |
AvailabilityFeb 19 in Chanel counters in department stores or Chanel beauty boutiques in Australia. As usual - should already be available elsewhere. To my knowledge these are/will be permanent (please let me know in a comment below if this is incorrect!).
Final wordsThe perfect pairing for spring. <3
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend (hopefully you're not working, but if you are...don't work too hard ;-) ).
